Vision is not what you see with the eyes only; it is what you see with the heart! Your eyes only see today, but your heart is capable of seeing a possible outcome, an outcome that is desirous, one that gives you courage and a future.
If you fail to see past tomorrow, you have no vision! You are without hope and death of spirit and emotions become your life. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Did you see that? No Vision = Death!!! Now I know every scripture is given to man to help him to find his definitive purpose! From this passage we see that the lack of a vision is death. Have you ever been depressed because your life felt like there was no meaning? If you felt as if there was no meaning, it’s because you failed to have a vision for your life.
Why has God even put me here on this planet? Why was I even born? Have you ever asked yourself questions such as this? If you have, then I am sure you have struggled to find your purpose in life. If you don’t have a purpose, or a plan for your life, today is the day to start. You must first know what you want out of life, not in money, but what do you want to contribute? What do you hope to give back to this planet? So many people go through their entire lives never accomplishing anything because they have no plan.
Benjamin Franklin said, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail” How true does that statement ring today in our lives? Can you think of a time that you had an idea, made a plan, and stuck to it? How did things work out for you? Did you accomplish what you set out to do? What about times that you didn’t stick to the plan, or failed to create one? How did things work out there? You can’t depend on luck or chance, for these two things do not exist!
You and you alone are in charge of your destiny, now as a preacher I know you want to hear me say that God is in charge. He is in charge of as much as you will allow him to be. It is still your made up mind that makes you what God wants you to be. God has a plan for your life; it’s your job to put it into action. Lets look at what the Bible says in Habakkuk 2:2 “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Do you see where it says, the Lord said to write the vision and make it plain? You have to do the work of writing the vision and making it clear so you and others can run with the vision. You can’t run with something that is not planned. You must remember God designed man with the ability to have freedom of choice. You choose to plan and succeed, if you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail. You have no one or nothing to blame but yourself. It’s neither God’s fault, nor anyone else’s if you fail to find your purpose in life.
Today I wish to leave you with this thought in mind. God has given you the ability to choose your own destiny! Your life is yours to command. What do you want to be remembered for when you die? What do you want to give back to this life? True people are a success not because of how much money they made, but how much of a difference they have made. Search your heart, what do you want? Write it down, and then make plans to become what you wrote down. Finally, stay the course!!! Don’t let anyone stop you from being what you wrote down. You are in charge! Never forget you are your own worst enemy, but you can also be your own best friend!
Take some time to share this thought with others today and let them know of their great ability. Teach others to believe in themselves by you believing in yourself! Share this with your friends and you give them the ability to be whatever they want to be! Now, Go find your purpose!
